Application of Information - Real Learning
Application of Learning - Information Customer Fit !
Here we define learning as 'application of information'. Acquisition, accumulation and storage makes no sense when learning is discussed with reference grown up young adult learners. Academic studying is old habit and practice. When information is scarce, information collection was the greatest thing. In internet and AI age, where information is available at click, the purpose of information collection has changed. More so when we are considering Higher Education learners.
In the end, it is the Information that is VALUED by the customers ! The learning rule is,
Interest in information collection is APPLICATION of it, VALUE CREATION and VALIDATION of information for SELF and OTHERS.
Why ?
Leads to skill development; Leads to authentication of information; When and if the person realize the information, it will be no more information but transforms into KNOWLEDGE; Although transformation of I to K is the important
How ? Where to start in the FOUR of the phases ! 2 or 3 or 4 or 1
- Where to begin with ? What is the path for the student ?
-Pick up existing products market to take to the customers in the market place. Forget not to add value to the existing products so that customers buy because of your TEARs talent, effort, ambition, resources and KASH !
1 Many Users with Low Usage / Low Value ( To start with
( Student goes to the market with a solution made out of all the available TEARs one has, which the student think that the solution will be of use to the customers in the market place. The reason, is that such a solution helped him / her to solve personal problems. In the market there are so many users. It will be frustrating to witness so many of them and no body is find it interesting. Yes. It is. This is the lesson the learner starts with. How come ones personal solution does not FIT to other users? Where s/he failed ? What made him/ her to fail ? Is the solution wrong? If the self is wrong? If the customers has different problem ? Is it possible to tweak and pivot the available solution? Then, the following question arises ...what are the users the problem? Which one is the best problem that s/he can solve with the given TEARs ! This is the REAL LEARNING for any student learner !
What this stage does is, prompt the learner to try to go to the market, meet the customers in the market makes one to think and reflect where the mistake is on ! Which part of TEARs ?
This kind of thinking by a student learner is in contrast to conventional thinking like, DONT START WITH PERSONAL PROBLEM AND PERSONAL SOLUTION ! FIND OUT THE BIG, MEGA PROBLEM OF THE CUSTOMER IN THE MARKET and attack it ! This challenge does not help the student learner, rather frustrate a student learner ! Which customer will give me time and opportunity ? Where they reside ? How to reach them ? If any body will allow him / her to meet them ! Is it waste, what all one is doing ? Then why one is studying what one is studying? Many questions that a student faces will piss him / her off ! Derail the student ! Purpose here is not to make a student learner to jettison the studies so as to cater to the 'Many Users and High Value ' market phase ! Even if a student learner comes across such a - huge opportunity, if a student leverage such an opportunity is a big issue.
It is important to notify the reader that the purpose of
P. 12 of the book, 'Fall in Love with the Problem, not the solution' a book by Viv.. URI LEVINE !
The primary thing for a student is, what is studied / done, useful or not ? Which, and which part is not useful and which parts are found useful ? How much it useful / useless ? Why which part is useful and why which part is not useful ? What to be done, if at all to make what one studying is useful? Does it need different talent, effort, attitude, ambition and resources ? If this is not useful, what else is useful . This is the puzzle a young graduate student need untangle as part of ones everyday learning. Earliest one does it, the best is ones learning. Disastrous to delay this validation process.
STARTING for a student is NOT BIG problem of the customer ! Starting for a student is, what is that one have and what is that one do with what one has so as to reach to a customer in market place.
This is CONTRARIAN way of looking at the things. EFFECTUAL THINKING !
2. Few Users with Low Value - Next stage after ONE ! Some improvement!
With efforts, a learner finds what is working and what is not working ! Done this is great progress for any given student learner !
This phase, where FEW USERS and LOW VALUE !.. This does not matter for a student learner. This is the best opening for a young student to move to next phase. Here one will be trying to find out what is missing and what needs to be done ! Real innovation happen here.
3. Few Users with High Value
A young learner moving 1 to 2 and readying for moving to 3 is amazing learning progress ! The movement signals the direction in which the learners progress is moving.
This phase augurs the possibility that the learner will move to next phase - More Users with High Value!
4. More Users with High Value.. ( To reach to ! )
